I wanted to thank all the respondents and the blog author for sharing. This is something that's very important to her, and it's difficult to be married to someone who doesn't share the same values. If you are worries about her or her family trying to convert you, be honest. Maybe you do, too. Like it was mentioned above, see how she deals some of the issues now and if she can't handle it, it might be better to find someone else. If she had to choose one issue to dedicate her life to, it would be gender equality. Mormon girls are taught that they have a divine nature. And can you talk about hard things together.
I have learned this painfully with my child growing up in the LDS community. Both independent and had the same life goals, family life plans etc. A lot of shared hobbies, interests, life goals. Should one belief system or lack of one take priority and why. My wife expects me to understand her situation but whiles I am willing to understand, I wish she would make some effort to etch out some quality time for us when she is not stressed out and grumpy and irritable. She has opened my eyes to many parts of our national culture that are not in harmony with righteousness. Don't try to fill the silence and rush to say something like "but I know you are super busy. Reconciling this with the doctrine of temple marriage is trickier.
